In Augsburg and surrounding areas, police recorded and initiated investigations into several different incidents between late December 2025 and early January 2026.
The reported cases include apartment burglaries, traffic accidents involving leaving the scene, driving under the influence of narcotics, as well as disturbances to public order and road safety.
In the Universitätsviertel district, police are investigating a burglary at an apartment on Lilienthalstraße, where unknown persons gained entry and stole valuables. The estimated damage amounts to approximately 1,000 euros. A similar incident was reported on Sanderstraße, with damages of around 500 euros.
In Hammerschmiede, a hit-and-run traffic accident occurred when an unknown person collided with a parked truck and left the scene without notifying the authorities. The damage is estimated at around 1,000 euros.
In Oberhausen, officers stopped a 34-year-old woman driving under the influence of drugs. Tests indicated the use of cannabis and cocaine. Legal proceedings have been initiated.
In Augsburg city centre, a 26-year-old man was arrested after blocking traffic near the Wertachbrücke, threatening drivers, and behaving aggressively towards police officers. A court-issued arrest warrant was executed.
Police are also investigating the theft of an e-bike in the city centre. Two men were temporarily detained, and an e-bike of the Corratec brand was seized. The owner has not yet been identified.
Another incident involved two teenagers setting fire to a Christmas tree in a parking area. Fire services extinguished the blaze, and the extent of the damage is still being assessed.
Augsburg police are asking anyone with relevant information about these incidents to contact the appropriate authorities.
